Tapping into Technology: Pulling Middle School Learners into Authentic Literacy Through Technology LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

In this presentation we will be sharing ways in which we have developed digital literacy activities to pique student interest and engage a passion for literacy in these formative, middle school years. We plan to introduce our audience to three different approaches to incorporating technology into an English/language arts classroom: 1. A book review project that uses the Touchcast and Aurasma apps to create a permanent, interactive book review for our library, 2. Our book trailer project combined a novel study with the iMovie app to create a presentation for the author of the novel, 3. Finally, our Shakespeare unit incorporates film production, acting and editing using iPads, Chromebooks, and Google Apps.
